Technical Coordinator

ACR are working with a South Essex based privately owned retirement living developer to appoint a Technical Coordinator to its rapidly expanding construction team.

The company are growing at an exponential rate and having previously contracted their construction works to main contractors. Having brought this function in-house and due to their increasing workload the company are seeking a Technical Coordinator to be responsible for up to three live schemes.

The successful applicant will report to the Senior Technical Manager and will have responsibility to ensure timely issue and distribution of a drawing packages enable a full and comprehensive construction process for a start on site.

The growth of the company will provide exciting opportunities to gain experience in a number of fields and different types of design including traditional build and RC frame developments ranging from 40 – 85 units. Operating within a close-knit team the successful candidate will also be contributing to the success and operation of the Development team as whole.

Typical Duties:

  • Agree with Technical Manager all the subcontract and supplier items.
  • Prepare schedules of plots identifying scope of work and design.
  • Liaise with Buying and Commercial to get design information in a timely manner chasing up where needed.
  • Manage approval of subcontractor and supplier design elements, reviewing comments and chasing approvals and construction issue drawings.
  • Work out when items are needed and prioritise.
  • Work in line with the team procedures and get drawings checked and reviewed.
  • Assist in producing regular technical reports on status of design approvals.
  • Arrange meetings to progress the above Team/Consultants as required.
  • Assist in reviewing consultant’s drawings against deliverables lists for content, completeness and accuracy.
  • Liaise with NHBC and Building Control to discharge any conditions.
  • Attend design team meetings and site team meetings.
  • Site visits as required.

Required Skills/ Experience:

  • Ideally candidates will be qualified to HNC/HND/Degree level
  • Will have experience working for a House Builder or Architectural Practice with job running experience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
