ACR are working alongside one of the UK’s leading House Builders who are looking to recruit a skilled Quantity Surveyor to join their longstanding legacy division team based out of their Essex region in Brentwood.
Key Responsibilities:
- Participate in relevant project, development, pre-start, and review meetings to support effective project planning and delivery.
- Review contract documentation and drawings to identify errors, omissions, discrepancies, and potential cost risks.
- Assist with the preparation of tender information, including compiling proposed tender lists and updating procurement programmes.
- Coordinate the distribution of design information and tender packages, preparing all required tender documentation and carrying out initial checks on prospective subcontractors.
- Maintain and monitor procurement trackers to ensure progress aligns with project requirements.
- Prepare cost analyses based on tender returns, requesting additional information as needed to ensure accurate comparisons and recommendations.
- Support the assessment of project resource requirements and programme demands to contribute to the development of preliminary cost forecasts and initial project budgets.
- Assist in organising and facilitating budget review and settlement meetings with the wider commercial or project team.
- Prepare stage payment schedules to support project cashflow planning and financial reporting.
- Lead or support pre-order meetings, ensuring all commercial, technical, and Health & Safety requirements are addressed before finalising contract sums and issuing formal documentation.
- Place subcontract orders, conducting interviews, reference checks, and commercial negotiations to ensure best value within budget constraints.
- Manage variation processes, including issuing instructions, assessing cost impacts, and coordinating with internal teams and subcontractors to ensure accurate pricing and documentation.
- Monitor and reconcile project costs, analysing expenditure trends and identifying potential risks or areas of overspend.
